12月31日 To DreamWhen Do Dreams Stop?
We have all had them. Dreams of falling; Dreams of being naked in public; Dreams of a sexual nature. My personal dream that keeps happening is forgetting my locker combination in school. Will I never grow up? Lol
My question is, do dreams eventually end as we grow older? I think of this as the year 2006 draws to a close. It has not been a good year for me personally. As a matter of fact it has perhaps been one of the worst years of my life. Only a few know of my challenges of 2006. But to dwell on the negative is to “Give up on one’s dreams”.
I have written before that the most powerful emotion is perhaps that of hope. For that reason I cannot believe that dreams “ever” end. For me, my dreams are shifting as I grow older. I dream not so much of or for myself, but for the joy and love of others. My struggles of 2006 were not financial in nature so I was able to fulfill many of my dreams by helping those I love in times of need. That brings great joy into my life.
Another gratitude I want to share is my experience I have had here on spaces. In getting to know people from around the country I have renewed hopes and dreams that I am not alone. I thank you with extreme humilty for the friendships I have found here online. I wish for you, from the bottom of my heart, much success and happiness for 2007. If, in your life, you are struggling, know that you are not alone and don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are always people around you that want nothing more than to assist the one they love. Believe in yourself and in those around you.
With that I will end this babbling of thoughts as I end 2006. Happy New Year and do be safe.
Enjoy, Ed

12月22日 SpoofEd’s Blog Before Christmas
Twas the Blog before Christmas, when all through the house The keyboard was quiet and so was the mouse. The flash drives were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Internet soon would be there.
The C-drive was nestled all snug in its bed, While visions of defrag danced in it’s head. And monitor in her “kerchief, keyboard in all caps, Had just settled in for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the cable there arose such a clatter, Modem lit up to see what was the matter. Away to Windows it flew like a flash Tore open the router and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the luster of Link lights to objects below. When, what to the wondering of web cam should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a new installed driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Click. More rapid than broadband his cursors they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
Now Yahoo! Now Google! Now Apple and Dell! On Packard! On Compaq, On Notebook and Intel! To the top of the screen! To the top of the wall! Now flash away! Flash away! Flash away all!”
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The whinning of D-drive, pawing its hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around. Down the chimney St. Internet came with a bound.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all memory, then turned with a jerk, And laying his cursor aside of his nose, And giving a ding, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his broadband, to his team gave a whistle, And way they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim,, ‘ere his signal went out of sight. “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
Ok, I am no Clement Moore, but I did have fun putting this together. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday and please be safe.

Ed 12月15日 Buyer Beware!A Hard Sell!
I recently bought a couple of cameras over the Internet from a company called wilddigital.com. While their merchandise is high quality at great prices I must add some caution about their marketing strategy. After the order is placed online you soon get emails and phone calls saying that you must call them to verify the order. When you do this, they try very very hard to sell you “upgrades” and attachments to what you have purchased. On one occasion I could not get “Montel” to shut up long enough for me to say anything. He would not take NO for an answer. I found this “hard sell” to be very annoying at the least to down right unethical. So beware of the sell and then upgrade technique of many companies. Be sure of what you want and need before the actual purchase.
I did my 16-hour movie run on Thursday around the state of Missouri. One of the movies I delivered was “Charlottes’ Web”. I love that story and would suggest you take some time to see this new version.
Enjoy, Ed
Rednecks Drinking & Driving One day, two rednecks named Bubba and Earl were driving down the road, drinking a couple of Buds. The passenger, Bubba, said "Lookey thar up ahead Earl, it's a po-leece roadblock! We're gonna get busted fer drinkin' these here beers!" "Don't worry Bubba," Earl said. "We'll just pull over and finish drinkin' these beers, peel off the label and stick it on our foreheads, then throw the bottles under the seat." "What fer?" asked Bubba. "Just let me do the talkin', okay?" said Earl. They finished their beers, threw the empty bottles under the seat and slapped the labels on their foreheads. When they reached the roadblock, the sheriff said, "Have you boys been drinking?" "No sir," said Earl, "we're on the patch." 12月10日 Trip EastTrip out East
Here watching yet another Chiefs game. Come on guys play better. They seem to play and win just enough to keep it interesting and then they blow it. It is a beautiful day here with the temps in the 50’s.
I left on a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa on Wednesday of last week. We got a late start so only made it as far as Terra Haute, In. the first night. Terre Haute is the home of Indiana State University (Larry Bird?) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Rose-Hulman is an excellent engineering school. Sort of like the MIT of the Midwest. I have known a number of people that have gone there.
The second day we made it into Pittsburgh (actually a small suburb called Conway). It started to snow as we got to Conway, switched out Vans and started back. Well, the snow and ice got the best of us. It took 2 hours to go 20 miles. So, we just decided to stay the night in Pittsburgh and start out fresh the next day.
On the third day we made it back to St. Louis and then home on the fourth day. Other than the snow and ice on Thursday, it was a good trip. I-70 was closed due to an accident on Thursday but the detour took us right into Columbus, OH so it was not a big deal.
Hope all is well with everyone. Is all that Christmas shopping done? I am going to do some shopping here on the computer this afternoon. Keep smiling.
Enjoy, Ed

That about says it all. Since I last was on this computer I have made two trips out of town, survived an Ice and Snow storm, and helped my daughter and two little grandsons move into their own place.
I will start with the trip to La Junta, Colorado. It was a one-day out trip and a one-day back. We spent the night in La Junta, a mostly farming and railroad town just east of Pueblo. Had some great food at a place called “Hogs Breath”. I know, it does not sound like a great name but it was very good.
This past week has seen a potpourri of weather here in Kansas City. On Tuesday I spent some time in the park with my two grandsons, enjoying sunny weather and temperatures in the 70’s. By Wednesday that all changed drastically; typical Midwest weather. It started out as rain, then freezing rain, then sleet, and finally snow. What a mess it was here in town. Parts of the city got no snow at all while other parts received up to a foot of the white stuff.
Where was I during all this mess? I was headed out of town for a trip to Douglas, Wyoming. As I left, the freezing rain was gripping the city and traffic was creeping along at about 30 mph on the interstates. Finally I reached St. Joseph, Missouri (a town 40 miles north of the city) and all was fine. I had clear roads ahead all the way to Wyoming. My company called me as I hit the clear roads saying that all vans were to stay home and no movement was allowed. I explained where I was and that the weather was worse if I were to turn around and go home. They agreed and off I went. The first night I stayed in York, Nebraska. I stay in over 100 motel rooms a year so the “bed” is the most important aspect of a motel room for me. Let it just be said that I woke up with a backache after the stay in York. I will remember not to stay at that motel again. I drove to Douglas, Wyoming the next day, switched vans and made it back to Kearney, Nebraska the next night. That night was in a Hampton Inn, a pillow top bed and great a night’s sleep.
This weekend I helped my daughter move into her own place. I will miss my two grandsons waking me up each morning with such renewed and innocent excitement for a new day. It is nice though to have my house back to somewhat normalcy.
So, that is what I have been doing in my absence here from my space. Now that I have bored you with what I have been doing I will leave and hopefully not be so long before my next post. Keep your bodies warm during this cold spell and your smiles bright. The Christmas season is on us as is the burning of my credit card. Lol
Enjoy, Ed |
